Music and Merriment in Downtown Courtenay for 'Twas the Night Before...

 

Get into the spirit of the season in the heart of Courtenay this December 19th and 20th with 'Twas the Night Beforecelebrations throughout the downtown core!

 

Whether you're looking for last minute gifts, stocking stuffers, tasty treats or time with family and friends, Downtown Courtenay is the perfect destination this weekend! In addition to the rich variety and quality offered by local merchants, shoppers can take in Christmas carols and choirs, live music events, street performers and opportunities to connect with local charities. 

 

On Friday and Saturday from 12 noon till 5 pm Duncan Ave is host to Elevate Hearts - Giving Bazaar featuring a dozen local social justice and environmental charities selling crafts and gifts at 505 Duncan Ave. As part of the event, kids can enjoy free hands on creative Christmas crafts all afternoon! Or pop by the Comox Valley Art Gallery for incredible original gifts from local artists and artisans. The Sid Williams Theatre hosts the Christmas classic The Nutcracker Friday and Saturday as well.

 

Friday evening Zocalo Cafe and Elevate the Arts welcome innovative electronic music ensemble Colliding Canyons at 7 pm and Billy D's offers up of the great music of the Jilli Martini Band!

 

Saturday the streets will be alive with music and merriment! After some last minute gift shopping at the Comox Valley Farmners Market, stop by Mudsharks Plaza for music from Motif Music from 11-2 and Joey Clarkson from 2-4. Gather round the campfire and join in for some tunes!

 

Explore the streets of town for more music including Celebration Singers at 12 noon at the Sid Plaza and pop up performances from a rich variety of choirs, musicians and artists including Frosty the Snowman, Buskers for Charity, Jack Frost, Santa Claus, the Ice Queen and many many more!

 

Saturday evening join Celtic Cargo at the Zocalo Cafe at 7 pm or join friends and family for a special show at Billy D's, "Des Larson - Home for the Holidays" at 7:30 pm. This soulful home grown talent will delight music lovers of all ages!
