Sugar. We all know it’s bad for us. A toxin in fact! But how to we kick the habit? And even more importantly, how do we do without giving up flavour! During this class we will explore the health risks of eating a diet high in refined sugar and refined carbohydrates, such as cardiovascular disease, mental illness, systemic inflammation, and of course diabetes and its associated precursors. We will talk about the foods that should be avoided and discuses proper macronutrient ratios for maintaining healthy blood sugar regulation. We will take a look at some foods that help lower blood sugar and regulate insulin, and most importantly, make a meal together that is completely blood-sugar friendly, including a delicious dessert!
