Hundreds of local people make their own kombucha. Learn how.
Joanne Sales has been making Kombucha for over 26 years. Learn how to do it right, and take a SCOBY home to do it yourself. Homemade kombucha is much tastier, healthier, and very inexpensive to make. You will never need to buy kombucha again.
This workshop is offered frequently. If you are interested but cannot come on November 21, please email me anyway!
Since 2012, over 400 people have taken this informative, informal workshop and are happily making kombucha in their own homes. Workshops are scheduled whenever 3 people can come at the same time. If you can't come at listed dates, email Joanne and ask for another date! Workshops are informal, interactive and fun. Most workshops are 10:30-12:00, but can start also be 1-2:30. Email to reserve your spot. RSVP required! Home made kombucha is much tastier than bottled, and more alive. You'll taste the difference.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN AT THE WORKSHOP; • You’ll taste some homebrewed kombucha. • You’ll get a healthy KOMBUCHA SCOBY to take home. • Demonstration and complete instructions on how to make your kombucha brew. This includes how to wash the SCOBY and keep it fresh. • Demonstration of how to store your brewed kombucha tea, in order to keep fresh kombucha always available. • You will learn to make a secondary fermentation for added carbonation and storage - with blueberries, orange, pineapple, ginger, etc. • We’ll discuss the health benefits of drinking kombucha.
What is Kombucha? Kombucha (kom-boo-cha) is a fermented tea beverage that enjoys a legendary reputation for promoting wellness. It has a history in Eastern Europe and Asia dating back thousands of years. The fermentation process takes about one week, and results in beneficial, nutritional brew of organic acids that help improve digestion and detoxify the body. It tastes like apple cider with natural carbonation. You learn everything you need to know at the workshop. There is a small – VERY small - amount of alcohol in kombucha, and about ¼ the amount of caffeine as in a cup of tea. The energy you get from drinking it comes primarily from the B vitamins.
Benefits of Kombucha: Health benefits attributed to kombucha tea include stimulating the immune system, improving digestion, gall bladder and liver function, detoxifying the body, balancing metabolism and raising energy levels. It’s helpful for joint health as it can be converted into natural glucosamines. Kombucha contains B vitamins, B1, B2, B6 and B12. (B12 is particularly difficult to get in a vegetarian diet.) We’ll discuss the benefits of Kombucha in more detail at the workshop. It’s amazing. INVITE YOUR FRIENDS!
