The Victoria Stroke Recovery Association & The Centre for Biomedical Research (UVic) will be bringing together basic research (Dr. Craig Brown, PhD in neuroscience), clinical (Dr. Andrew Penn, MD in neurology), and rehabilitation (Dr. E. Paul Zehr, PhD in neuroscience) neuroscience in a �Focus on Stroke Symposium 2014� . This is a community evening of presentations and discussions about the latest and most ground breaking work in understanding, diagnosing, and recovering from stroke. What actually happens to brain cells during a stroke? Can a simple blood test be used to help stroke diagnosis? Is it really possible to train just one side of the body after a stroke and still get stronger on both sides? These questions and many more will be asked and answered during this informative and stimulating session.
