Building Healthy Soil
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
Healthy soil is the backbone of any garden. It provides all the nutrition your plants need, in a form that is easily absorbable. When plants are grown in healthy soil they exhibit superior disease resistance and are less attractive to pests. The vegetables and fruits that are grown in healthy soil taste better and keep longer after harvest. The best thing about building healthy soil is that it is easy to do. The truth of the matter is that soil microbes are capable of doing a significant amount of the soil building work for you. Come listen to Connie Kuramoto teach you how to harness this powerful resource with a lecture on soil and a demonstration on how to build a simple, yet productive garden bed. Connie has been teaching Horticulture for over 30 years and currently teaches for Gaia College in the Organic Land Care Diploma Program.
