Come on out for the Apple Dessert LOVE IN. A diversity of apple delights baked for YOU TO ENJOY. Undoubtedly, the Best Apple Tasting Event in Victoria, back by popular request for its 8th year.
1) About 23 Chefs will bake 2 or more apple pies (or dessert) each using KNOWN APPLE VARIETIES.
2) Pie lovers will choose 3 samples of different apple desserts for $5.
3) Apples will be supplied to all chefs.
4) Profits will all go to a good cause. (2018 will be divided between “Growing Together- multi generational garden based learning-partnership between Nature Kindergarten and high school class and Project Reclaim: WSANEC Youth Food Justice.
5) Chefs are encouraged to bring a page of info, about their business, or place of work, plus about the pie and the apple varieties used.
6) It is hoped to use about 19 baking apple varieties for this event.
Come on down and try some little known varieties of apples ~ learn how to best use them in baking scrumptious desserts. Did you know there are apples that are red inside as well? We've got them! Who knows...you might be served by a local celebrity, chef, politician or even a neighbour!
