Noon Cannon Firing
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me send to friend
The Bastion is perhaps most famous for its exciting cannon firing ceremony every day at noon throughout the summer. For more than 20 years, the resonant sound of local bagpiper Bill Poppy has accompanied this ceremonial reenactment. Also adding to the entertainment every Thursday and Saturday between June 23 and Labour Day is the Brigadoon Dance Academy. So come down and have a blast learning the history of Nanaimo, the Nanaimo Bastion, and the Bastion`s cannons. The cannons are located beside the Bastion on the plaza.
