Victoria cinephiles will be treated to two premieres. First, on Monday, March 22 at 7 p.m., at the Cineplex Odeon Victoria (780 Yates Street, Victoria), Ricardo Trogi will present his wonderful film, 1981. In 1981, the Trogi family is settling into their new neighbourhood. In order to better fit in, young Ricardo invents a false identity that requires constant maintenance – until reality becomes impossible to deny.
And on Tuesday, March 23 at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., at Victor-Brodeur School (637 Head Street, Victoria), audiences will have two chances to enjoy Émile Gaudreault’s 2009 hit movie De père en flic. Forced to work together even though they can’t stand each other, Jacques and Marc try a little father-son therapy in order to save a fellow cop kidnapped by bikers.
Tickets will be sold in advance ($8 for adults, $6 for students) at the Société francophone de Victoria (200-535 Yates Street, Victoria; 250 388-7350).
Tickets will also be available at the theatre on the evening of each performance.
