Playwright Kevin Loring will be speaking at UVic as part of the Orion Lecture Series in Fine Arts. Kevin is a member of the Nlakapmux (Thompson) First Nation in Lytton, B.C. His first play, Where the Blood Mixes, won the Governor-General’s Award in Drama this past November. It premiered in Toronto the same day as the House of Commons’ apology for the legacy of suffering generations of aboriginal people continue to endure as a result of their experiences at residential schools. Presented by the Department of Writing.
