HerART is a project of the Nanaimo Women's Resource Society. We will be providing a series of free art workshops to women and girls in the community that will culminate in a public showcase May 18 and 19. There will be drumming, theatre, and painting workshops as well as many more. People can get involved in the workshops, volunteer to put on a workshop, or volunteer to help out at the event. In addition we are seeking funds and in kind donations. This event is a fundraiser. With all the strife in our community over low barrier services we see this as a way of unting women from all sorts of backgrounds to present a unifying and community building project.
