Love gardening but fed up with the pains you feel afterwards? Many people venture into the garden unprepared, only to return hours later aching and exhausted! Yoga can help you avoid some common gardening injuries and reduce current aches and pains. Through attention to posture and alignment principles, this two hour workshop will help you protect your hips, shoulders, wrists, back and knees. You will learn what you should do to get your body ready for gardening and how to stretch and move after yard work so that you feel rejuvenated. Deep relaxation will provide opportunities for you to dream of your perfect garden.

Bio: Jenny shares her passion for yoga, nature and gardening on and off her mat. She began her yoga practice as a teenager, becoming a serious student of yoga in 1990. She grew up among a family of gardeners (her parents ran a landscaping business), and continues to care for gardens of vegetables, fruit, perennials and wildflowers at her home in Esquimalt, B.C. Jenny draws from diverse hatha yoga traditions, including Iyengar, Astanga, Vinyasa, Yasodhara and Anusara. She completed her initial yoga teacher training with Blissologist Eoin Finn, and in 2014 became the only yoga teacher on Vancouver Island to become certified in the YogAlign Method taught by Michaelle Edwards. As sole proprietor of Nature Wise Yoga, Jenny weaves her environmental knowledge with her understanding of Yoga, to create unique, fun, nature-inspired hatha flow yoga classes. She provides posture and alignment advice, and suggests options for all yoga experience levels. “Yoga helps generate the resilience and compassion we need to care for and about one another, our communities, and nature.” For more information, explore the Nature Wise Yoga webpage and the Nature Wise Yoga FaceBook Page.
