This event is designed to raise funds and awareness of ovarian cancer, Canada�s most fatal gynecological cancer. This year in Canada, 2,500 women will be diagnosed and 1,750 will die from the disease.
Registration for the event can be done online, or at the event site at 9am. There will also be entertainment and morning coffee until10:00am, when the walk begins. After the walk is over, which should be around 11am, there are also FREE post Walk refreshements, entertainment & Children�s fun area!
There is also a walk distance choice in between 2.5km and 5km.
Remember that KNOWLEDGE CAN FIGHT THIS DISEASE.
Currently only 30% of women survive five years after being diagnosed. However if the disease was detected and treated in early stages, the survival rate can be as high as 90%. By educating women of the signs and symptoms of the disease, we can increase the survival rate and help conquer the odds.
The Walk is also being held at the following locations in British Columbia: Kelowna/Westbank, Nanaimo, Penticton, Prince George, Saturna Island, Surrey, Vancouver, Vernon, Victoria
