Come out and take a trip down memory lane to revisit Don Messer's Jubilee and support the Sonshine Lunch Program for persons in need in the Comox Valley.Don Messer was a Canadian institution from 1939, when he was first broadcast nation-wide on the CBC Radio network, to his death in 1973. The show will feature local fiddler Glen Hiebert as Don Messer, dancers, cloggers and special guests including Doris Weislein as Kitty Wells, George Bentham as Boxcar Willie, and Bob Hiebert as Gordon Lightfoot to name a few. Don Tremaine, the emcee of the show, is portrayed by Ken MacLeod, who promises to take you back in time with his historical quips. The show was a smash hit at the recent North Island Old-Time Fiddlers Jamboree.Tickets are $10 and are available now at the Florence Filberg Centre office, 411 Anderton in Courtenay, between the hours of 8:30 am � 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.
