The Comox Valley C.G. Jungs Society presents the lecture: The Song of Miriam with Jungian Analyst Judith Dowling. This lecture takes us beneath the desert sands of the Hebrew Bible's Exodus in search of the Lost Song of Miriam and the archetypal feminine. Miriam, sister of Moses and Aaron, was a prophet and leader in her own right. Miriam's leadership is remarkable for her affiliation with song - her song of love and triumph on the new shore of freedom, and the Song of Miriam's Well.
Her story unveils the lunar, feminine story beneath the solar, masculine story of Moses and the Exodus: it brings the feminine into relationship with the masculine, restoring balance and completeness. Our exploration brings psychological insight into the significance of the archetypal feminine to the individuation journey. Judith Dowling completed her Diploma in Analytical Psychology at the International School of Analytical Psychology. Prior to her journey to Zurich, Judith's love of music led her to pursue a career as a singer and voice teacher for over thirty years.
Judith has a private practice in Victoria. You can find her at: www.victoriajungiananalysis.com And you will find Judith speaking to us in Room 203 of the Tyee Building.
