Zaki Ibrahim’s music is at once futuristic and primal. She blends elements of pop, electronic, and post-dubstep music with R&B, soul, and jazz. Now based in Cape Town, this South African- Canadian singer-songwriter is earning international attention. She earned a Juno nomination for “R&B/Soul Recording of the Year” for her 2009 song “Money”. Her first full-length album Every Opposite was shortlisted for the 2013 Polaris Music Prize.
She has performed at Capetown’s historic Armchair Theatre and the International Dance Music Awards and has also toured Canada with South Africa’s Tumi and the Volume, the Roots, and Bedouin Soundclash.
