Victoria will celebrate it's first annual TARTAN DAY event on Saturday, April 2nd, 2011 in Market Square in recognition of "National Tartan Day" which is celebrated officially throughout Canada on April 6th.
Market Square will be decked out in full Tartan with Scottish Cultural booths, Tartan Weavers, Scottish Baking, Pipers, Highland and Scottish Country Dancers, a Highland dog breed competition, Island Farms "Daisy the Cow", Scottish entertainment and Celtic bands.
The event will kick off a week long celebration that will continue at "Craigdarroch Castle" which will also be celebrating the event with Scottish entertainment and cultural events and a Scottish variety night at the "Bard & Banker" on Government Street on Wednesday April 6th.
