Silk Road Tea: Moon Festival Tea Ceremony
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
Every autumn, the Chinese celebrate the moons appearance, at its brightest and most beautiful point. It also celebrates an ancient Chinese love story, between the Moon Goddess of Immortality, and her husband, an Imperial archer and Immortal who lives in a palace on the sun. Once a year, he leaves the sun to visit his wife on the moon, which is said to be the reason why the moon becomes tinged with orange from the sun, and increases in brightness. This annual festival is also known as the Mooncake Festival, due to moon shaped cakes served at this time of year. Experience moon tea prepared in the traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony style, along with authentic green tea Mooncake to celebrate the arrival of fall.
