Sensations! A Fundraiser for Western Edge Theatre

Wear something red, and join Western Edge Theatre for an evening “under the stars” at Sensations!, a sensuous fundraiser on Sat., Feb. 25th.

“Sensations! is an evening of romantic fun with delights for the eyes, ears and palate,” says Western Edge artistic director Brian March. “First we’ll have some tantalizing food and beverage tastings from local businesses, followed by offerings of theatre, dance and live music, all in the cozy nightclub atmosphere of the Starlight Room at Tandoori Junction.”

Nanaimo’s favourite man-about-town Rick Meyers emcees the entertainment, which includes an original short play, Chocolate, live music from pianist/guitarist Beth DeVolder, a group cha-cha lesson with Shiloh Durkee, and an audience search for “The Greatest Love Story Ever Told.”

Food and beverage suppliers for the evening include Arbutus Distillery, McLean’s Specialty Foods, Tandoori Kitchen, and Wolf Brewing Co., while door prizes have been donated by Black & Blue Tattoo, Bocca Café, Flying Fish Kitchen & Gifts, G.E.M. Fabrications, Lighthouse Bistro and Pub, Luscious Me, and Newfoundland to Nanaimo, among other generous local establishments.

As well, a reading with medium Terri Lynn Boyle will be raffled – a $150 value.

Tickets cost $30 (with a tax receipt for $15 available), on sale now at westernedge.org or by phone at 250-816-6459. With just 44 available, early purchase is advised.

Doors open at 7:30 pm at Tandoori Junction (489 Wallace St., Nanaimo). “Add a splash of red to your evening wear,” says March, “and bring your partner, a friend or come on your own to the social event of the year.”

All proceeds go to Western Edge Theatre, a leading engager of theatre artists and technicians on central Vancouver Island.
