Sailing into the Sunset- Painting Boats, Seas and Skies in Watercolour

Paint a sunset seascape with a sailboat. From a glowing yellow sun to reflective blue and purple waters, you’ll learn how to use colour so your sunset feels vibrant but natural. We’ll explore the technique of leaving white negative spaces through our paintings to create movement and light, beginning with some practice time to develop our skills. We’ll create a simple line drawing then build up the sky and water step-by-step, using techniques such as wet-in-wet and creating deliberate back runs with water to give our ocean a natural feel.

Suitable for beginners and those who want to develop their understanding of basic techniques.

You’ll end the session with an 8” x 10” seascape.
