The Men's Wellness Program at AIDS Vancouver Island presents free training for Healthcare and Service Providers, Community Groups and Individuals who want to learn more about PrEP/PEP. Joshua Edward from HiM (Health Initiative for Men) will lead these workshops: What is PrEP and PEP?  “PrEP” stands for Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis. PrEP is a way for people who are at high risk of getting HIV to prevent infection.

It is a medication that is taken everyday, which works to keep the virus from taking hold in the body. “PEP” stands for Post Exposure Prophylaxis. PEP is a way for people to minimize the chance of contracting HIV after a likely exposure to an infection.
