Jude Neale is a Canadian poet, vocalist, spoken and word performer. Jude publishes frequently in journals, anthologies, and e-zines. She was shortlisted, for many international competitions including the Gregory O’Donoghue International Poetry Prize (Ireland), The International Poetic Republic Poetry Prize (U.K),The Mary Chalmers Smith Poetry Prize(UK), and the Carers International Poetry Prize (UK). Jude's last book, A Quiet Coming of Light, A Poetic Memoir (leaf press), was a finalist for the 2015 Pat Lowther Memorial Award, eight of its poems were shortlisted for the Magpie Award, Judged by George McWhirter, Vancouver's first Poet Laureate and two of its poems were nominated for the coveted Pushcart Prize (US) by two different publishers. Her book, 'Splendid in its Silence', a SPM Prize winner, was published in the UK in April. One of her poems from this edition was chosen by Britain's Poet Laureate to ride with thirty-three other winners around the Channel Islands on public transit for a year.
D.S. Stymeist’s debut collection, 'The Bone Weir', was published by Frontenac House in 2016. His poems have appeared in numerous magazines, including The Antigonish Review, Prairie Fire, Dalhousie Review, and The Fiddlehead. His work was featured as the Parliamentary Poet Laureate’s Poem of the Month and was short-listed for Vallum’s poetry prize. He teaches poetics, crime fiction, and aboriginal literature at Carleton University. He grew up as a non-indigenous member of a mixed family on O-Pipon-Na-Piwin Cree Nation, is the editor and founder of the micro-press, Textualis, and is the current vice-president of VERSe Ottawa, which runs VerseFest, Ottawa’s annual poetry festival.
