Planet Earth Party: A Sooke Region Earth Day Celebration

Earth Day 2018 will feature displays, earth-friendly green vendors, food trucks, interactive booths, workshops, family activities, an upcycled fashion show, a clothing exchange, student art, and the first anniversary Zero Waste Sooke Repair Cafe.

The Community Hall will be open during exhibition hours from 10 am to 3 pm, with transition activities and food out-of-doors until doors re-open at 4:30 for a community Earth Day dance, ceremonies and awards. The event's overall focus is on Plastic Reduction (the world-wide theme for Earth Day 2018), however the day will cover a wide variety of approaches on how we can treat our planet with more kindness and respect. Prizes will be awarded for the Earth Day Poetry Contest as well as the winners (and we are all winners at some level) in the region-wide cleanuup held the weekend before.
