Join us as we celebrate one of the region’s most beloved traditions, the Pacific Rim Whale Festival, as we will be returning this spring for an in-person festival to celebrate life on the coast for a 34th time!
The Pacific Rim Whale Festival was dreamed up from a desire to celebrate the wonders of coastal nature, and to raise awareness of the spring Grey Whale migration and local marine ecosystems.
This year’s festivities, taking place between Ucluelet and Tofino, will emphasize the region’s environmental research and sustainability initiatives through a blend of virtual and in-person learning opportunities. There will be cultural dance workshops for families, a diverse science speaker series, marine debris art workshops, seafood culinary workshops and live music. Plus whale watching tours with special guests to celebrate the returning migration of whales to our coastline and, if timing allows, the herring spawn. The majority of our events are entry by button, designed by local school children.
Suggested donation of $5. Be sure to look out for competitions on our social media to win whale watching tours and accommodation during the festival. Stay tuned by following our website and social media. Calendar of events and registration open Monday Feb 28th.
