Oceans Day 2012 celebrates our living oceans and all who live work or play on it.
Engaging info booths highlight the smallest (plankton) to the largest (whales) and Crabby Bob's and the Sleepwalker live touch tanks display the fascinating creatures that live in the ocean.
Greenways Land Trust and the stream stewards, Quinsam Fish Hatchery, Centre for Aquatic Health Sciences, BC Salmon Farmers Association, Fisheries and Oceans Conservation and aquaculture, Canada Coast Guard, A'tlegay Fisheries, City of Campbell River Watershed Protection and Green Shores, Climate Change Awareness Booth, Whale Watching and large marine mammals, Maritime Heritage Centre and the CR Museum are some of the participating partners.
Family activities include making fish-prints, Bounce-a-Rama, face painting, aiming at the dunk tank, free fishing at the Discovery Pier, $2.00 admission to the Maritime Heritage Center, Food concession, local musicians. Free shuttle bus all day between the CR Community Centre, Campbell River Museum, and the Maritime Heritage Centre.
Bring your own drinking water bottle and fill up on prize winning City of Campbell River drinking water while learning how to conserve and protect it!
