Ocean of Plenty: Shellfish Gala Dinner
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
'Ocean of Plenty' is a gala shellfish dinner; ' celebrating what we grow' in the ocean around Fanny Bay. The event starts with appetizers, including a raw oyster bar, shucking the specially named for the night 'Cowie Creek' oyster!' There will then be a seated dinner The menu can be seen on www.coalwatch.ca The caterer for the event is Dawn McCrae, a popular custom gourmet chef from the Comox Valley. Most of the shellfish (all local) is being donated. There will be a bar, serving local wine and beer. Residents from Denman and Hornby Island can catch a ride to and from the ferry for the event. Transport will be available to pick up from the 6:40pm ferry from Denman Island to Buckley Bay and will return residents for the 10pm ferry from Buckley Bay. This event is a fundraiser for Coalwatch. There is going to be a 50/50 and an auction with lots of great, generous donations from the local community. As this is a celebration of what we have and want to protect - world famous natural beauty - you may like to dress for the occasion. A few mermaids or King Neptune would be fun.
