An Introduction to NonViolent, Compassionate Communication, led By Melanie Young
Non-Violent Communication (NVC) has been described as a language of compassion, and as a tool for positive social change. This exceptional language gives us the tools to understand our emotional triggers, to take responsibility for our reactions, and to deepen our connection with ourselves and others, thereby transforming our habitual responses to life. In this one day introductory workshop you will explore how this new language can create ease in your communication with others, and expand your understanding of how to stay in connection during difficult interactions. You will become your own spontaneous mediator in awkward situations and turn negative reactions into positive connections, that can move your relationships forward in peace and harmony. Non-Violent Communication is the language of people who care about one another, and who long to have balance and harmony in their relationships with partners, children, peers and in their communities. Dr. Marshall Rosenberg, creator of Non-Violent Communication, calls it the lost language of humankind. This workshop is for everyone who would like to begin the journey towards healthier relationships, whether it is with a partner, children, a boss or neighbors. You will go away with skills in listening and sharing that will have an immediate effect in your world.
