Tales for the Telling, Storytelling for Adults presents Dale Jarvis, author, storyteller, and founder of the St. John's Haunted Hike, telling ghost tales and legends from Newfoundland.
Dale has researched these stories and told them around the world. We are delighted that he is bringing them to Vancouver Island along with his most recent book, Haunted Ground: Ghost Stories from the Rock. Ghost stories are found in every corner of Newfoundland and Labrador, and no one knows them better than storyteller and folklorist Dale Jarvis.
Dale Jarvis works as the Intangible Cultural Heritage Development Officer for the Heritage Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador, helping communities to safeguard traditional culture, the first full-time provincially funded folklorist position in Canada. Dale holds a masters degree in folklore from Memorial University. He is a past president of the Newfoundland Historic Trust, Who better to tell us the ghost stories and legends of Newfoundland?
