Come celebrate National Indigenous Peoples’ Day! On Tuesday, June 21, we will be gathering as a community at Maffeo Sutton Park from 5-8 pm to celebrate, have fun, learn, and create community. This is a public and free community event.
There will be entertainment and teachings from Mid-Island Métis Nation Fiddle Group, Snuneymuxw's Footprints of the Wolf, a jigging class, Summer Sage, Ed Peekeekoot, and more!
Other fun stations include Indigenous games, beading, and the teepee.
There will be vendors and food trucks such as Don’t Bannock, Tasty Street Food Truck, and Lickety Drippity.
Interested in volunteering, or vending? Please contact Mid-Island Métis Nation (MIMN) via 250-585-7441 or by emailing [email protected]. Please note that vendors must be self-reliant i.e. bring all of your own equipment such as tables, tents, etc. Deadline to apply for vending is June 11th.
MIMN is grateful to be partnering with Literacy Nanaimo, Strong Nations bookstore, School District 68, and other community partners
