Join us for this unique and experiential exploration of the tools of Human Rights and Nonviolent Communication (NVC). Through interactive activities and role plays, you will begin to:
*Understand the power and rank you bring to your life
*Place your own desire for justice and equality within a global context
*Explore the impact of our own �enemy images� and begin releasing them
*Channel anger and hurt constructively into authentic statements about what is most important to us
*Use empathy as the basis for change
Facilitators:
Mitch Miyagawa, CNVC Certified Trainer Candidate. Mitch is a facilitator, writer, and filmmaker who is passionate about communication that connects, and reconciliation in our personal lives and communities. He received the 2013 Writer�s Guild of Canada�s Screenwriting Award for his documentary �A Sorry State�.
Moussa Magassa works as a Human Rights Education Advisor for the University of Victoria where he focuses to enhance understanding of and commitment to the university�s human rights and equity goals by raising the awareness of students, staff, faculty, supervisory personnel and administrators on a range of human rights issues with the end goal of increasing diversity and creating fair and inclusive work and study environment at UVic.
