Our group Childbirth Preparation classes provide a comfortable and friendly atmosphere where parents-to-be can meet to collect and discuss information and prepare themselves for the journey ahead. Our courses are designed by trained and experienced childbirth educators who are also doulas and breastfeeding counsellors.  

The curriculum for all of our Prenatal Classes is based on the Lamaze Six Healthy Birth Practices.  Topics are presented in a variety of ways, including discussion, hands-on practice, video, couple work and group work.

This workshop is for clients who have chosen a doctor as their primary care provider.  Why?  The model of care provided by doctors differs from that provided by midwives; we have found our clients’ needs and expectations to be best met by offering classes which focus on the model of care they will be receiving from their primary care provider.

WORKSHOP OPTIONS

Two Full Saturdays

The two full-day Saturday workshop allows expectant parents to immerse themselves in the topic of birth in an intense but intimate format.  This format might be suited to mothers and birth helpers who are busy in the evenings, who are out of town frequently or who cannot take the classes until late in pregnancy.

Four Consecutive Sunday Afternoons

The 4-Sunday series is intended for parents who may have limited time to prepare for the arrival of their child, but who work on Saturdays. Some parents told us they wanted to come during the day – but not for the whole day – so we came up with this compromise!

2:30pm to 5:30pm

- Sun, May 15 - June 5, 2016
- Sun, Aug 7 - 28, 2015

Six Evenings

In the weeknight series of classes, the same group meets for six weeks in a row.  This enables participants to get to know each other and provide each other with support through the last weeks of their pregnancies.

7pm to 9pm

- Tues, May 3 - June 7, 2016
- Tues, July 5 - August 9, 2016
- Mon, Aug 8 - Sept 19, 2015 (no class Sept 5)
