Nonprofit staff & volunteers deal with mental health every day. We know that it can affect everyone and anyone and this 2 day workshop is designed to help you navigate mental health as it appears in your organization and in everyday life.
Mental Health First Aid Basic is an educational course (12 hours long, split over two days on April 8th & 9th 2019) to learn skills to help others and discuss the following mental disorders:
Substance related disorders
Mood related disorders
Anxiety and trauma related disorders
Psychotic disorders
Crisis first aid skills for the following situations are learned:
Substance overdose
Suicidal behavior
Panic attack
Acute stress reaction
Psychotic episode
Each participant will also receive a manual to take away.
Upon completion of the training, participants receive a Certificate of Attendance from Mental Health First Aid Canada and the Mental Health Commission of Canada.
April 8th & April 9th 9am-5pm - Each day will have 2 -15 minute breaks and an hour for lunch
This workshop needs a minimum of 8 people and we need to know before March 29th. Register early.
