DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:<p>Nonprofit staff &amp; volunteers deal with mental health every day. We know that it can affect everyone and anyone and this 2 day workshop is designed to help you navigate mental health as it appears in your organization and in everyday life.</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Mental Health First Aid Basic is an educational course (12 hours long, split over two days on April 8th &amp; 9th 2019) to learn skills to help others and discuss the following mental disorders:</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Substance related disorders</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Mood related disorders</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Anxiety and trauma related disorders</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Psychotic disorders</p>=0D=0A=
<p><strong>Crisis first aid skills for the following situations are learned: </strong></p>=0D=0A=
<p>Substance overdose</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Suicidal behavior</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Panic attack</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Acute stress reaction</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Psychotic episode</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Each participant will also receive a manual to take away.</p>=0D=0A=
<p>Upon completion of the training, participants receive a Certificate of Attendance from Mental Health First Aid Canada and the Mental Health Commission of Canada.</p>=0D=0A=
<p>April 8th &amp; April 9th 9am-5pm - Each day will have 2 -15 minute breaks and an hour for lunch</p>=0D=0A=
<p>This workshop needs a minimum of 8 people and we need to know before March 29th. Register early.</p>
