This is Nygaard's third performance in this lounge, and she is eager to offer gorgeous songs that uplift and inspire you. With a promise to do no more than 2 Christmas songs if any, you can be assured to hear jazz and pop/musical inspired tunes that span from the 1930's to current day, including her latest originals, which are often audience favourites.

Lorraine has had an interesting life, working in fields as diverse as fashion design, cafe and bed and breakfast ownership, and fitness instruction, all the while singing her joy. After raising five children, she studied jazz and vocals in Victoria's Conservatory, and has been steadily gaining momentum in performing and recording. Interpretations of each song come from her experience of our humanness, expressing passionately and tenderly the lyrics of each piece. Her connection to the audience continues to bloom with each event.

Accompanying Lorraine is the incomparable Louise Rose on piano. Well-known throughout the Pacific Northwest, across Canada and the U.S., Louise is revered as a special entity all her own: a versatile pianist, vocalist, recording artist, composer, motivational speaker, choral conductor, accompanist, teacher, facilitator and caring mentor. Her good energies make every event extra special.

On bass will be the stunning Louis Rudner. New to Victoria in the last few years, he is eagerly sought by performers wishing to collaborate with his extraordinary talents. Originally from Michigan, he played violin since he was eight, and studied classical and traditional music, eventually earning a Masters degree in Jazz Performance in his home state. Inspired by likes of the '60’s Cream, Jimi Hendrix, and Santana, Rudner took up electric bass to explore yet another sound palette. He enjoys time in the great outdoors, while continuing to hone his craft in every pub, club and performance hall available.

Don't miss this very special first weekend performance of December. Relax in the comfortable chairs of the lounge, and choose from the delicious light fare on the menu. Or, you could enjoy a larger meal in the next door dining room, and come into the lounge for a special drink and dessert later, while you relax in the glow of the music. The staff service is excellent, so why not bring a date or a group of friends, and inspire them with your good taste? A long and elegant bar is on the opposite side of the room of the grand piano if one is determined to be alone, or keen to meet new people. The setting is comfortable and ensures that everyone feels cozy, merry and bright.
