Light Up in Memory
December 4, 6:00 PM
Cowichan District Hospital
The 23rd annual tree-lighting ceremony at Cowichan District Hospital has become a beloved annual ritual for many in the Cowichan community to remember their loved ones who have died.
Light Up in Memory includes comforting words and beautiful music from the Threshold and Queen Margarets School choirs. Everyone has an opportunity to turn on a tree light in memory of a loved one. Following the lighting ceremony, Cowichan Valley Hospice volunteers will serve refreshments in the hospital cafeteria.
I look forward to the warmth of the gathering each year, says Cowichan Valley Hospice Client Services Coordinator, Shelley Kuecks. No matter what the weather the simple ceremony and the gathering warm my heart. This can be a very difficult time of year for many people. Light Up in Memory allows community members to acknowledge the loss of their loved one in a meaningful way.
This year Light Up in Memory will be held in front of Cowichan District Hospital on Wednesday, December 4th at 6 PM.
