The Nanaimo Chapter provides patient comfort items at the community dialysis unit and the kidney care clinic, hosts summer and winter social functions, organizes the annual World Kidney Day Walk and Kidney Walk, a fundraiser and awareness event that promotes organ donation.

In addition, members are involved in public education events, speak to community groups and participate in the VIHA patient advisory meetings in Victoria.
