add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
Learn the Japanese martial art of the Samurai sword. Iaido does not use sparring but involves the learning and practicing of techniques against imaginary opponents through set movements called waza.
There are also opportunities to develop proper spacing and timing through partner exercises using wooden bokken. Students are encouraged to learn more about the Japanese culture and language so they can understand more how Iaido evolved and continues to be practiced worldwide. The focus is on fluid and controlled motion, with calm mind and awareness. It is a martial art suitable for all fitness levels and is suitable for both men and women.
There are opportunities to try just a session or to continue your skill development by considering Todo Kai as a dojo.
Registration is ongoing through Nanaimo Parks & Recreation.
Feel free to come out and try a class to see if this may be what you've been looking for.
