Kidney Heroes are found everywhere in communities across BC. They are the thousands of people on dialysis who cope with the daily challenges of living with kidney disease. They are the family members, friends and health care workers who provide on-going encouragement, care and
support. They are the organ donors, the grateful transplant recipients and individuals who have registered online to be organ donors. They are the thousands of participants across BC who joined
the KIDNEY WALKS since 2008.

Small steps make a big difference. People living with kidney disease often have to spend up to 15 hours a week on dialysis. It is difficult for the person with kidney disease, and their families, in countless ways. That's why we consider everyone with puts on their sneakers and walks for kidney disease a real kidney hero.
