In the Feldenkrais method, there is no strenuous stretching. Movements start off very small and build to explore the potential of ones full mobility rather than attempting to make the body do what it does not want to or is not ready to do. It is analogous to the way we all learn to move as infants, step by step as our curiosity draws us out into the world.


The lessons which take about 45 minutes to complete are done mainly while lying on the floor as this position allows us to assume a posture similar to that of standing without having to engage the anti-gravity muscles, thus allowing for a more relaxed state where differentiation of muscular activity is easier to achieve. Please come with a towel and yoga mat or something which can help you to be comfortable on the floor
