Just down the block from the Nanaimo Arts Council at 208 Wallace Street, the Blue Poppy Garden Gallery is onto a very good thing, offering First Fridays, a social gathering from 5 to 9 p.m. on the first Friday of the month, when people can get together and socialize with one another and with the artist whose work they exhibit that month.

In the spirit of celebrating our city’s vibrant creative community, NAC and at the Network Hub joining them in hosting a First Friday event on August 5, making this a real block party! Nanaimo Arts Council and The Network Hub will be offering snacks, refreshments and a cash bar at the Network Hub, 120-256 Wallace, where NAC’s First Friday Celebration members exhibition will be on display, along with a peoples choice award for the favourite.

At Blue Poppy, artist John Shaw will be featured.
