The popular Qualicum Beach street festival FIRE & ICE returns in 2014!
Qualicum Beach's Fire and Ice event will be back on Saturday, May 3 in 2014 with more food and entertainment choices than ever.
fire and ice 2011 honing-in on perfectionThe event will continue its longstanding �fire and ice� theme, but in addition to the traditional chili tasting other kinds of hot foods will be available. Visitors will be able to choose from both chili cups as well as other �hot� food options from local restaurants.
The popular ice carving will return, with additional �ice� activities activities such as ice cream making and new �ice� food options.
On the entertainment side, local musicians will continue to be highlighted, while the overall event will reintroduce a theme concept to inspire costumes and ice carving. The theme for 2014 will be �Pirates of Qualicum Beach�.
The one-year break allowed the organizing committee to consult extensively with local businesses, community organizations and participants. The responses indicated strong support for a continuation of the long standing event, but with more choices and options for both area businesses and visitors to participate in the day's activities.
