AIDS Vancouver Island (AVI) is bringing a showing of the powerful and highly accredited film documentary "We Were Here" to the North Island. The film chronicles the early years of the AIDS epidemic in San Francisco, California. Drawing on interviews with survivors, it is an emotional and immensely moving chapter in human history.
The film will be followed by a health discussion around the realities of HIV as it was then and as it is today; much has changed, and yet in some aspects much still remains the same. http://wewereherefilm.com/
