Featured Reader: Wayne Grady the author of fourteen books of nonfiction, including The Bone Museum, The Quiet Limit of the World, The Great Lakes: The Natural History of a Changing Region, and Tree: A Life Story, which was co-authored with David Suzuki and nominated for a BC Book Award for Book of the Year.
His novel Emancipation Day was long-listed for the Scotiabank-Giller Prize in 2013, and won the Amazon.ca First Novel Award. With his wife, novelist Merilyn Simonds, he is the co-author of Breakfast at the Exit Cafe, their travel memoir of the southwestern and southern United States.
He is also a Governor-General’s-Award-winning translator, having translated fifteen novels from the French by such authors as Antonine Maillet, Yves Beauchemin, Danny Laferrière, Gilles Courtemanche, and Daniel Poliquin.
He teaches part-time at the University of British Columbia’s optional-residency MFA program, and as of November he is the writer-in-residence at Haig-Brown House, in Campbell River, BC. He lives with his wife in Kingston, Ontario. http://www.waynegrady.ca/
