<p>His novel Emancipation Day was long-listed for the Scotiabank-Giller Prize in 2013, and won the Amazon.ca First Novel Award. With his wife, novelist Merilyn Simonds, he is the co-author of Breakfast at the Exit Cafe, their travel memoir of the southwestern and southern United States.</p>=0D=0A=
<p>He is also a Governor-General&rsquo;s-Award-winning translator, having translated fifteen novels from the French by such authors as Antonine Maillet, Yves Beauchemin, Danny Laferri&egrave;re, Gilles Courtemanche, and Daniel Poliquin.</p>=0D=0A=
