Pizzeria Guerrilla is excited to announce their upcoming event “Famiglia” in collaboration with award winning Victoria brewery Moon Under Water. The dinner will consist of six family style courses designed by chef Jessie McMillan, expertly paired with a line up of both regularly rotating and seasonal beers from Moon Under Water. Menu highlights include roasted ballotine of local chicken with heritage polenta and spicy honey paired with Tranquility West Coast IPA, and a dark chocolate cake drowned in bourbon caramel paired with Sang Du Merle, a barrel aged sour beer with black currants. This dinner is the first in a series of exciting semi-monthly events of the same nature.
Tickets are available by calling the restaurant at 250-703-0002 and are $60, plus GST, and 17% service charge.
More about Pizzeria Guerrilla
Originally opened as a food stand at Gladstone Brewery in 2015, the Pizzeria relocated to its own full-service location at the heart of 5th street in late 2018. Pizzeria Guerrilla serves thin crust pizza from a 55-year old heritage double deck oven, an ever-changing collection of simple and delicious share plates, a rotating list of the province’s best craft beers, a well chosen selection of straightforward wines, as well as an evolving list of hand crafted cocktails from barman Griffin Wright. The primarily locally sourced(There’s just no substitute for Pecorino Romano) kitchen operation is driven by chef Jessie McMillan’s extensive experience in farm-to-table restaurants in Vancouver, Montreal, and New York City. Expert hospitality duties are overseen by industry veteran Nick Williams, and owner/face of the operation Jason Uglanica. Serving dinner from 5pm Tuesdays through Saturdays, as well as lunches on Fridays and Saturdays starting at noon, the spacious, warmly lit room is perfect for a casual meeting, late-night cocktail, or an intimate dinner date.
More about Moon Under Water
Moon Under Water Brewpub is a family business run by mother Anne, stepfather Steve, son Clay and their dog Brew. The birth of Moon Under Water Brewpub all started when Clay went to school at the University of Victoria to study genetic engineering. In his fourth year of a five-year program, he secured a co-op position at Lighthouse Brewery in Victoria. From then on he was hooked. Eventually his quest to learn lead him to be accepted into the Brewing and Distilling Masters Program at Heriot Watt University in Edinburg Scotland. Clay soaked up an abundant knowledge for European brewing and later brought his philosophies and methods back to his hometown of Victoria, B.C. Since the family took over in 2012 there have been quite a few brews that have been developed. Some of the local favourites are Light side of the Moon and Creepy Uncle Dunkel. As far as co-owner Anne’s favourite, she says all of them are her favourite, it just depends on how she is feeling. Anne explains that there are 5 core beers that are available all the time and then there are seasonals which come and go depending on the time of the year and what new seasonal products are available.
