This Electronic Navigation course allows the pleasure craft boater to navigate safely knowing his or her exact location at all times. You will learn about hand-held and built-in GPS and the different kinds of electronic charting—how they were developed, their advantages and disadvantages and how to use them in a practical manner.
The course covers the features, capabilities and uses of electronic charts and the variety of ways they are available - from chart plotters, PDAs, tablets to laptop and desktop computers.
Course materials include a comprehensive CPS training manual and a CD containing a number of charts and a full scale simulator of a chart plotter to help you learn by doing.
Register early -- Class size is limited to 12 students.
