Join vocalist/conductor/composer Leah Hokanson for a community gathering of blissful ecstatic chanting. Leah’s "Diamond Chants," blend the wisdom and inspiration of timeless ecstatic poetry (From Rumi, Hafiz, Hildegard of Bingen, Whitman to Kabir), with the eclectic groove and tunefulness of popular music – including jazz, R&B, pop ballad, funk, world music. Uniting universal messages of love, peace and belonging Leah inspires joy and connection. Put your worries aside for the evening and celebrate the joy of singing your heart out!

Leah Hokanson is a well-known choral director, composer, singer/songwriter, and vocal sound explorer based on Gabriola Island, BC. She directs Gabriola’s Song Keepers Women’s Choir, the Life Journey Singers, and is a music director at First Unitarian Fellowship of Nanaimo. Leah facilitates vocal sounding workshops that explore the voice as a vehicle for healing and transformation. In 2018 she released an inspirational album of original songs entitled Facets and in 2019 she gifted us with her first album of original chants, Diamond Chants: The Heart.
