Dr. Birute Galdikas: Worldbridger Fundraiser

Join us in conversation with Dr. Biruté Galdikas, world-renowned primatologist and conservationist who has been studying wild orangutans for over 43 years.


Under the tutelage of Dr. Louis Leakey, Biruté Galdikas, together with Jane Goodall and Dian Fossey, revolutionized our understanding of primates and what it means to be human. Today, Dr. Galdikas is the co-founder and president of the non-profit organization Orangutan Foundation International (OFI) and spearheads the movement to save orangutans and their habitats from extinction.


All donations to this event will go to OFI and their efforts to conserve orangutan populations and their rainforest habitat in Southeast Asia.

Born to Be Wild offers a heartwarming glance into the life of those working to preserve endangered species. Focusing upon the rehabilitation of orphaned elephants and orangutans, elephant expert Dame Daphne Sheldrick and world renowned primatologist Dr. Birute Galdikas collaborate with their teams to show viewers the importance of animal rescue and rehabilitation.
