Mid-Life! Does Life Sometimes Feel Like You Are in the Belly of the Whale?
Mid-life crises or transitions are difficult and potentially destructive experiences. We may think of these times as being swallowed in the belly of the whale. This is our dark sea journey.
How do we end up in this situation and what can we do to prevent it? More critically, how can we get out of the whale's belly?
The healthy outcome of the mid-life transition is greater self-awareness and connection with the totality of the psyche.
This lecture provides concrete steps one may take to deal with mid-life transitions.
The evening lecture is hosted by the Comox Valley C.G. Jung Society. You will find us in Room 203 of the Tyee Building at NIC. The speaker is JOHN BETTS. John is a Zurich trained Jungian Analyst who maintains a private practice in Victoria. John can be reached at www.jungian.ca.
