Cultivate is about cultivating the arts on Gabriola. Cultivate is inclusive and celebrates the opportunity for people to fill their souls with theatre, music, and art. Cultivate is about community and how we share this island in a myriad of ways with each other and visitors from afar. Cultivate is about honouring the incredible space that is the Gabriola Commons and how we have cultivated a partnership over the years. June 30th - July 3rd on Gabriola Island at the Gabriola Commons, 675 North Road. When you attend Cultivate you will feel the energy in your bones and know you are cultivating too. Early Bird tickets June 1-14. Workshops are free, but you need to register on the ticket page or at the Information Tent. There are single theatre show tix, 3 packs, 6 packs, one day music, two day music and all access pass - all youth and adult. Kids 12 and under are free. Youth is 13-17 years. The festival begins with the Opening Ceremonies at the Reservoir Stage on June 30 at 11:30am. Witness a welcome ceremony by Elder Geraldine Manson and Knowledge Keeper Dave Bodaly, plus the amazing dancing of Footprints of the Wolf. We will also draw the winner of the Cultivate Prize Pack worth over $1400!!! Theatre: Suddenly 50 with Nicole Nattrass, Nine Plus One - Return to Wisdom, Workshop: The Play is the Thing, Radio Werx presents Sandpiper Serenade, Grow Up Grandad, Dave Bodaly Storytelling, Trying to Keep Up, The Myrtle Sisters in Out of Time, Monolloygue with Todd Duckworth, Pico's Puppet Palace - Pico and the Golden Lagoon, Workshop: Puppet Making with PIco's People, The Journey with Michael Clarke. Music: Stephen Fearing, Big Little Lions, ReBeLstoke, Celso Machado, Veda Hille, Rick Scott Family Concert, Carolyn Mark and oldseed, Workshop: Explore the Transformation of THRUMS, SacRED and DJ Malidas, Song in the Round (Mars on the Harp, Emily Carson-Apstein, John Gresham, Leah Hokanson), Workshop: Sing Well with Others, Myrtle Sisters - Sunday Song Shenanigans, Nice Verdes, Robert Egli, David Essig, Butterflywingtip, Ben Sams, Poetry Gabriola: Poetry Cabaret, Calico, Island Brass, The Shops, Max "Banjoman" Cossette, The Peripheral Visionaries, The Happy Failure, THRUMS, Jackie Strano, Ah Venice, Corwin and Kaya Fox, Stetson Road, Workshop: Intuitive Songwriting, Nathan Sobko, Kerry Unger, Cirque Ambulant. 15 art vendors, 6 food vendors, a libation station, a sculpture walk and random happenings. There will also be a FAMILY ZONE with crafts and activities for kids at no charge. Located in the Artist Village. Together we Cultivate the arts!
