Culinary Fundraiser: Asian Hotpot
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me
The Culinary Diploma and Culinary Arts Certificate program students invite you to experience one of the most delightful dining experiences to be found in Asian Cuisine, Hot Pot. If you have never been to Asia or been invited to a Hot Pot event, then let the Culinary students bring this event to life for you and your friends.
What is Hot Pot? Hot Pot (also known as steamboat) is similar in many ways to Fondue. It centers on a simmering metal pot of stock in the middle of the dining table. The hot pot is kept simmering with a small heat source under the pot. The diner selects from a number of raw ingredients and places them in special wire baskets that are placed in the simmering stock. Typical hot pot dishes include thinly sliced meat, leaf vegetables, mushrooms, wontons, egg dumplings, and seafood. The cooked food is usually eaten with an assortment of dipping sauces. Hot Pot, like Fondue, is a meal where the focus is as much on the social experience as it is on the tasty treats from the pot. Like Tapas, the meal is a series of small, delicious taste experiences that will leave you wondering how you got so full. Hot Pot meals are traditionally shared during the winter months. They provide an opportunity for friends and family to gather and share stories as well as great food.
This experience will refresh memories of your trips or this experience might inspire you to visit Asia.
